Taxpayer’s Accountability Centres

[New page under construction]

Since taxpayers’ money is being used by governments to do various things which degrade human life and human rights and undermine democracy, it is appropriate that there be much more accountability than is currently the case in how governments spend taxpayer’s money.  There needs to be much more transparency and accountability, and Lorelle Baptiste has proposed the formation of Taxpayers’ Accountability Centres in her own nation of Canada (which could become models for other countries).  The idea is for accountability in both directions — that taxpayers feel accountable for how their elected government uses their money, and have a place to go to find out just how it is being used; and most especially that governments know they cannot just do things with taxpayers’ money without any accountability to the taxpayers anymore.
